New BigDog verses Asimo video!

BigDog vs Asimo - In case you don't already know, BigDog is a 4 legged American robot designed for military applications and Asimo is a 2 legged all purpose Japanese robot. The video is about a fictitious robot battle between the two robot superstars. It is set to the tone of one of those old Godzilla movies and it starts with Asimo towering over the city only to be chased away by the fierce and relentless BigDog. I won't tell you who wins, but I will say only that it has a very explosive ending. - To find out how it all ends, click on the cartoon picture above to watch video.

Praying Mantis vs. Canned Air - Above is a photo of a praying mantis climbing on the nozzle tube of a can of air. Don't worry. It's just that canned air duster stuff. It's not poison or insecticide. Art According to Rj55 - What is Art? - If you take a photo of something then you have a photo. If you sketch something on a piece of paper you have a drawing, but how do you know if it is a piece of art? Well, you could simply say that anything is art just like you can say that any sound is music, but is that really true? I think artwork can be called "art" if it impresses someone. Many young people will simply say "that's cool" or "that's awesome" when they are impressed with an image and if they are really impressed, they will set it as the background on their computer, laptop, or cell phone. Therefore, a good test for art is to look at your work and ask yourself would this make a good computer background (computer wallpaper). However, I think a better test is to place your artwork on the internet and then monitor how many people view, set as wallpaper, post your artwork to separate blogs, etc. I can tell you as an artist, there is no greater satisfaction than knowing that someone from across the country or even across the globe as set your artwork as their computer background. What is Art? - Is this art? - Or what about this?

Art can be anything . . . Or can it?

I think art is just another word for beauty, therefore, art is in the eye of the beholder. I suppose art can be created by anyone or anything. It can even be the results of a monkey or elephant throwing paint splats onto a canvas. However, "art" is not "art" until it is appreciated by someone. That "someone", of course, can be the artist himself, herself, or itself. Therefore, I consider art to be any graphical image that someone (human being) deems worthy enough to be placed as the background image (computer wallpaper) on the display unit of their personal computer (laptop, desktop, palmtop, cell phone, smart phone, etc.). I think everyone has their own definition of art. What is art to you? Please leave your comments.

Ant Robots? - The ant is the ultimate robot. It has a long lasting battery. It is fast moving. It is very strong. And it is a fully autonomous. Now if we could just learn how to reprogram it. Above is a photo of a real, live, red ant. This is a live specimen that posed long enough for me to snap the photo. Notice the little hairs sticking out from its head and body. What makes an ant do what it does? Does it think or is it simply an animal robot? They remind me of robots the way they are constantly scanning the ground.
