Strange Black Blob on the Sun
BREAKING NEWS: Amazing photo of the sun taken by an amateur photographer from his backyard. Notice the strange black blob or splat on the Sun. Is it a sunspot on the surface of the sun? If only we could zoom in on the blob. Oh wait, we can. Scroll down to zoom in.

Let me explain it to you Dave... It's called a camera trick. They simply painted the letters RJ55 on a glass plate and held it up in front of the camera lens. You must be thinking of the "red" type of sun photo taken by a space telescope. The Rj55 photo looks similar to the "yellow" type taken by a lower power telescope from the surface of the earth.
